About alt164 press
alt+164 is how you type ñ. A keyboard shortcut — a small combination of keys that produces something native to our language, our names, our culture. That's where the name comes from.
alt164 press is an independent press and culture label founded by Niña Sandejas, a music photographer who has spent over two decades documenting the Filipino music scene. Its mission is to preserve the visual history of that scene — the images, the stories, the moments that were never meant to be temporary. Hard drives fail. Links die. Platforms change and bury what was once visible. The photographs that captured what it looked and felt like to be in those rooms were at risk of disappearing — and with them, the truth of what happened.
alt164 press exists to give these stories a permanent home. Something you can hold. Something that will still exist long after the platforms that once carried these images have changed beyond recognition.
Every book we publish was made by someone who was in the room — who earned the access, built the trust, and chose the frame. That human perspective is what makes these documents real. And it's what makes them worth preserving.
The archive is just getting started.
